It has been a really productive month on the End of Waste Project in Turkiye as we have been preparing End of Waste Legislation and associated guidance for the main sector stakeholders.
We have had a number of technical meetings, earlier in November, with the Ministry and had managed to prepare a number of draft pieces of legislation and guidance for their consideration.
The ministry have provided their comments and we now have the final drafts ready for consultation to a wider stakeholder group from the relevant sectors. This is being done through a series of consultative workshops which we will conduct over the winter period in various locations in Turkiye.
The first of those events was held in early December in Antalya for the End of Waste Regulation and Guidance for the Copper and Aluminium scrap. The second of those events was held in Istanbul. I was lucky enough to fly in to the new Istanbul airport from Ankara and then get a shuttle from the airport to the Hotel which was back across the Bosphorus on the Asian side of the City.
The event was excellent with a really good turnout from the Glass sector. We received a lot of excellent feedback to the legislation and guidance from the sector delegates and we will be making updates to the drafts based on this really constructive comment.
Further events in the series are planned for early 2025 when we will visit Konya; Izmir and back to Ankara.
